Losing a pet is difficult.  The dogs, cats, birds and other pets we take into our homes become family members.  And when they pass away, we lose a member of our close inner circle.

The signs of grief are as if we had lost a spouse, child or parent.  We experience the steps of grief and grieve the loss severely in many cases.

Dealing with their final arrangements is like dealing with a funeral for a human.  With pets, cremation is many times a more viable option because finding pet cemetery can be difficult.

While LocalCremation.com does not specifically offer pet cremation, we have resources and can advise you on the need.  Please see our Frequently Asked Questions section at www.localcremation.com.

With the anniversary of 9/11 coming soon and the reminder of the day with the recent death of Osama bin Laden, we remember those who protect and serve our communities each day: firefighters and police officers.

For those who lose their lives in the line of duty or those who die after a long career, cremation and customized memorial services are an option for their burial and funeral.

Cremation is simple, affordable and dignified.  Whether you choose to make arrangements online, in our offices or in the comfort of your home, the price is the same.  From simple cremation to customized memorial services, LocalCremation.com would be honored to help you during this important time.

We are proud to announce the opening of our newly completed cremation center that houses our second state-of-the-art crematory retort.  This new machine adds additional identification procedures requiring our certified crematory operators to scan bar codes before the machine can be operated.  Bar codes are assigned to a family’s loved one’s cremation permits and paperwork, then a second scan verifies the bar code assigned when the body is brought to our facility.

Our cremation center also allows for a family to comfortably witness the start of the cremation process in our witnessing room.  If for personal or religious reasons a family wishes to start the cremation process they may do so by operating these controls on the interior of the witnessing room.

At Local Cremation our goal is to offer complete cremation service by owning our crematory and personally coming to the home, hospital or nursing home.  We keep our expenses low so we can pass on savings to families, while bringing comfort and reassurance to them.   For more information please visit www.localcremation.com or call Wendell Cox at 214-343-4040.

One of the important questions to ask a cremation provider is:

“When and how are my loved one’s ashes returned to me?”

Soon after cremation, your loved one’s ashes are returned to you.  Most providers offer many styles of urns, scattering urns and shipping containers.  They will seal the cremated remains into the container of your choice while you wait.  They can also mail the container to you or deliver it to you by appointment.  Cremated remains are generallya vailable 12 hours after teh cremation takes place, but can be expedited for same day pick up, too.

One of the key questions to ask your funeral director or cremation services provider is:

“Is embalming required?”

Embalming is not required by law.  Most crematories require embalming only if there is going to be a public viewing.  If there are family members, friends or loved ones who did not get a chance to say goodbye, most service providers can schedule a time for a small, private viewing prior to cremation without embalming.

LocalCremation.com provides simple, affordable and dignified cremation services.  From simple cremation to customized memorial services, we would be honored to help you at this time in your life. Our price is the same whether you make the arrangements online, in our offices or in the comfort of your home.

Please see our Frequently Asked Questions section at www.localcremation.com or call us at 214-343-4040.

One of the key questions to ask your cremation provider is:

“Can I witness the beginning of the cremation?”

The best answer is “yes.” From the time a cremation provider or funeral director receives your loved one, there are a number of options.

Most cremations take place early in the morning and arrangements can be made for you to see the start of the cremation.  Many religions and beliefs have this as a part of their rituals and, of course, these wishes will be honored gracefully.
